How to Share Printer on the Network?

How do I share my printer on the network? There are a couple of ways in which you can share a printer across your network, some easier than others. Some printers have wireless built in, but they are few and far between and, if you already have a printer, this is probably not an ideal solution.

In addition, some routers have a USB port which can sometimes be used to connect a printer to the network, but you will need to check your router’s manual to see if this is supported. Some printer manufacturers also make wireless adapters which plug into the printer’s USB port, letting you connect to the network.

However, if you already have a printer attached to a PC on your network, then you can simply use Windows to share your printer across the network. To do this, you need to go to the Windows Network options and choose to enable printer sharing. Be aware that if you are going to be accessing the printer from laptops or computers with a different version of Windows installed, you may need to install additional drivers.
