Monday, July 19 2010

Microsoft two new phones have three elements that make them social networking tools for the cloud computing age.

Studio backs up all your info online, photos, messages, and usual suspects, and lets you view it like a timeline. Add a contact and its automatically updated in the cloud.

The spot is a circle at the bottom of the screen that acts as a social networking portal.drag anything you want to share into it, decide how you want to share and who with, and it will do the rest.

Finally, Loop give you constantly updated status updates collating Facebook, Twitter at all right on the homepage so it’s the first thing you see when you switch it on. Of the two versions, the Two is the slightly better specced.

Kin One

The One is round, has a five-megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard 2.6-inch touchscreen, and 4GB storage, but no card slot.

Kin Two

An eight-megapixel camera adorns the Kin Two, capable of capturing HD video. The screen’s wider at 3.4 inches and the non-expandable memory is bumped to 8GB

The Spot

Both Kin’s feature The Spot, a handy feature that lets you share photos, status updates, weblinks and more via Facebook, messaging, email etc, simply by dragging and dropping.

Mucrosoft jumps on the social bandwagon with the some genuinely new features. Pricing is going to have to be keen if Microsoft is to persuade kids they want this over an iPhone or Android.
